Our client, a well-established and innovative technology company in Ottawa, is looking for a Junior Frontend / Full Stack Developer to join their collaborative Data Insights team. Job Functions:

• Develop and enhance customer-facing applications and features
• Work with modern technologies including React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Go, and AWS
• Support frontend and full stack development initiatives in a quick-release environment
• Contribute to data visualization and reporting projects using Power BI or Tableau
• Assist with improving existing applications, resolving technical debt, and supporting microservices-based architecture
• Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in a highly collaborative and quality-focused engineering environment

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of frontend or full stack development experience
• Experience with React and TypeScript
• Exposure to Node.js and/or Java
• Experience or interest in Go is considered an asset
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices, and modern development practices
• Exposure to Power BI or Tableau, including working with data structures and visualizations
• Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to take initiative
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss technical concepts clearly
• Portfolio, GitHub, or examples of shipped projects strongly preferred

• Standardization: Identify reusable patterns and contribute to internal playbooks, QA frameworks, and CSS/HTML/JS customization standards for conversational interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience: 4–8 years in SaaS, automation, conversational design, or technical services with a record of delivering solutions.
• GenAI Skills: Experience in deploying LLM-based agents in enterprise environments. This includes prompt engineering skills (Gemini, GPT, Claude).
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Python, OOP, and API testing (Postman, Jupyter). The ability to write, debug, and expand integration logic is needed.
• Data Skills: Ability to handle JSON parsing, schema mapping, and manage complex data from APIs.
• AI-Assisted Tools: Experience using tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Web Technologies: Working knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Communication and Tools: Strong communication skills. Proficiency with Slack, Jira, Confluence, and Git/GitHub.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in embedded Linux, device driver development, and Android platform internals, including hands-on work with GKI (Generic Kernel Image) and AOSP.

You will be responsible for developing and integrating kernel modules, customizing Android OS components, and enabling hardware functionality on embedded platforms used in products.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and customize Android platform components including system apps, services, and framework layers.
• Build, configure, and maintain the Linux kernel and Android GKI for custom boards.
• Design, port, and debug device drivers for various peripherals (I2C, SPI, GPIO, USB, display, camera, sensors, etc.).
• Integrate Board Support Packages (BSP) and vendor-specific hardware abstraction layers (HALs).
• Customize and extend the Android build system, init system, SEPolicy, and boot process.
• Support secure boot, verified boot (AVB), OTA updates, and device provisioning.

• Deep understanding of Android platform internals, AOSP, and GKI concepts.
• Proficiency in C, C++, shell scripting, and working knowledge of Java.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting on embedded targets
• Solid understanding of IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems
  • Familiarity with Android security features (SEPolicy, AVB, dm-verity, etc.).
• Comfortable interpreting schematics and component datasheets
• Experience with source control, code review tools, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills

• Experience with SoC platforms such as NXP
• Familiarity with HAL development using AIDL/HIDL.
• Experience with bootloaders (U-Boot, fastboot) and secure boot chains.
