Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on and technically proficient Technical Sales Support and Production Manager to support both customer-facing activities and internal

engineering/production operations. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who can manage a team of 4–5 production staff, while also supporting the sales process from a

technical and design standpoint. The role includes direct customer interaction, technical site visits, and back-up support for the Sales Manager when needed.

This position is a key cross-functional bridge between sales, engineering, and production, with potential to grow into a leadership role in technical sales or operations.

Technical Sales Support:

  • Prepare accurate technical quotes, estimates, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for hydraulic
  • powerpack and dock leveler systems.
  • Generate technical documentation such as layout drawings, schematics, and exploded views
  • Evaluate customer needs and recommend tailored solutions based on the application.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop proposals and respond to RFQs.
  • Serve as a technical liaison, both in-house and with customers.
  • Back up the Sales Manager during vacations, including handling inquiries, quoting, and customer meetings.

Production and Team Leadership:

  • Manage day-to-day production operations, leading a team of 4–5 shop floor staff.
  • Liaise with the Purchasing Manager for material and inventory needs, and with the
  • Sales Manager for customer priorities—balancing both to ensure timely and accurate assembly execution.
  • Oversee job scheduling, work orders, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure production output aligns with customer expectations and sales timelines.
  • Serve as the main link between sales/purchasing and production.
  • Promote a safe, efficient, and continuously improving production environment.

Customer Interaction & Field Support:
  • Participate in technical site visits and customer check-ins to review application requirements or troubleshooting issues.
  • Respond to post-sale technical inquiries and ensure successful implementation and ensure successful implementation
  • Maintain a strong, professional relationship with key customers and support long-term account growth.
  • Log interactions and feedback in the CRM system.

Growth & Development:

  • Develop deep technical knowledge of the firm’s products, manufacturing methods, and customer applications.
  • Participate in trade shows, product demos, and occasional industry events.
  • Support transition into future sales or operations leadership roles.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Fluid Power Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in technical sales support, production supervision, or engineering—ideally in hydraulics
  • CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and working knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Proven ability to manage production teams and coordinate project timelines.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, both in-person and via email/phone.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable juggling technical and managerial duties.
