Our client in the software sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives across North America, with a strong focus on automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and engineering organizations.

This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who enjoys building relationships, solving customer challenges, and driving commercial growth in a highly engineering-focused environment. Reporting directly to the Global Commercial Director, you will play a critical role in expanding the organization's presence across Canada and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and grow new business opportunities across North America
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering, technical, and commercial stakeholders
  • Lead technical discussions, product presentations, and solution demonstrations with customers
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to align customer requirements with technical solutions
  • Support proposal development, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations
  • Represent Realis Simulation at customer meetings, industry events, and technical engagements
  • Contribute to regional growth strategy and market expansion initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Powertrain, or Fluid/Thermal Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of post-graduate industry experience
  • Strong understanding of propulsion systems, engines, vehicle development, or powertrain technologies
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Business development
    • Technical sales
    • Application engineering
    • Customer-facing engineering roles
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in both technical and commercial environments
  • Comfortable working remotely while collaborating with international teams
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout North America
