This role will focus on advocating for small business owners, identifying and implementing innovative tax strategies, opportunties for savings, helping them navigate complex tax laws and regulations and providing exceptional advisory services. Responsibilities
The Tax Attorney will be responsible for performing a diverse range of functions including but not limited to:
- Provide strategic tax planning to a wide variety of small business owners
- Develop and execute innovative tax strategies aimed at optimizing client financial outcomes
- Offer expert advise and guidance on tax compliance, planning, and risk mitigation.
- Provide input on tax forms as necessary by utilizing tools like spreadsheets and calculators, and software
- Strategically represent clients, and advocate for them during tax audits, disputes, and litigation proceedings
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to provide clients with insights and updates
- Apply tax laws to client-specific situations to form opinions and justify positions in alignment with legal standards.
Qualifications
The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with tax law.
- Experience with tax strategy development, tax planning.
- Ability to prepare and navigate tax returns.
- Possession of a JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
- Posession of an LLM in Taxation from an accredited law school would be an asset, but not required.
- Have a curious mindset, and display an innovative and proactive approach in formulating tax strategies.
- Be tech-savvy, and proficient in using legal research tools and tax software.
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Display an innovative approach and proactive nature in formulating tax strategies.
- Exhibit proficiency in utilizing tax software and legal research tools.
- Ability to learn and understand the nuances of small business ownership.
- Possess a commitment to guiding, advising, and supporting small business owners in achieving their professional and personal goals.
