Job Description

Our client, a well-established tier 1 company in the construction industry, is seeking a talented Accounting Analyst responsible for overseeing various financial activities within the organization. This includes reviewing and validating financial statements, intercompany, analyzing monthly results and cash flow management activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate financial statements for month, quarter, and year-end.
  • Analyze and explain monthly results and KPIs.
  • Coordinate all budgeting and planning activities for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows.
  • Compile planning/budgeting reports for submission to the parent company.
  • Assist in budgeting by analyzing financial indicators.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of budgets, forecasts, and actual results for management review.
  • Review complex business transactions and identify accounting and reporting issues.
  • Support external audit and year-end financial statement preparation.
  • Coordinate resolution of accounting and policy issues with support departments.
  • Collaborate with tax and treasury departments and business units on related issues.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding for operational needs.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor cash balances.
  • Implement cash management policies and procedures to optimize liquidity.
  • Produce high-quality accounting reconciliations and transactions.
  • Perform cash management and forecasting activities.
  • Handle inter-company accounting transactions.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant accounting information to the business unit.
  • Execute month-end activities for closing accounting periods within the agreed timeframe.
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries.
  • Work with Business Unit Controllers to ensure timely processing of transactions.
  • Recognize and communicate issues and risks with the team.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles and internal control SOX requirements.
  • Support in the preparation of financial reporting packages and statements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and participate in a collaborative team environment.
  • Handle joint venture accounting and lease accounting exposure.
  • Address ad-hoc inquiries and prepare reports as needed.
  • Participate in various projects.
  • Assist as required with the preparation of various schedules for auditors.

Requirements:

  • CPA from public accounting is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in public accounting and/or manufacturing/construction.
  • Advanced Excel skills required, SAP experience preferred, and familiarity with large ERPs.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skill to support senior leadership.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
