Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Corporate Controller in building and enhancing the organization's consolidated financial reporting framework.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
  • Prepare and support the consolidation of financial results across multiple entities, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, validation, and consolidation reporting.
  • Analyze financial results and perform variance analysis to support management reporting and decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial information across multiple legal entities.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, Board reporting materials, and other internal and external reporting deliverables.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing accounting policies, reporting procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to resolve accounting issues and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with integrating newly acquired businesses into standardized accounting and reporting processes.
  • Support the annual external audit, including audit schedules, supporting documentation, and auditor requests.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including the implementation and enhancement of consolidation and reporting tools.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation is required; candidates nearing completion of the designation may also be considered.
  • Minimum five years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or consolidation experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and its application to financial accounting and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Strong foundation in month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with consolidation software, financial reporting tools, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
  • Exposure to implementing or improving consolidation and reporting systems is highly valued.
  • Public accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across regional and corporate teams.
  • Organized, accountable, and comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes are still being built.
