Sourcing Specialist – Packaging & Raw Materials

Our client is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and supply planning by ensuring a reliable supply of packaging and raw materials while building strong supplier partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment and enjoys balancing supplier management, inventory planning, and cost optimization.

What You'll Do

  • Develop material purchasing plans using customer forecasts and production schedules.
  • Partner with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of packaging and raw materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels, supplier lead times, and market trends to minimize supply risks.
  • Manage supplier contracts, pricing updates, rebates, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Support new product launches and material substitutions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain material specifications and work with suppliers on continuous quality improvements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate supply chain risks, and provide sourcing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Planning, Finance, Quality, and Operations to support business objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–3 years of sourcing or procurement experience, with a strong focus on packaging materials.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in manufacturing or food production is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
