Our client in the environmental sector is a seeking a Senior Project Manager who will play a critical leadership role in overseeing and delivering mission-critical, highly complex projects and programs. This position requires deep expertise in both waterfall and agile methodologies to manage large-scale initiatives such as multi-phase system integrations, major organizational change programs, and enterprise-wide technology transformations.
Reporting to the Director of the ePMO, you will build and lead high-performing teams, influence executive stakeholders, and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across the most challenging initiatives in the portfolio. You will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement in project delivery standards, governance, and methodologies.
Adhere to established project governance and methodology standards and promote their consistent use across project and business teams.
Ensure all project controls are met, including compliance requirements such as IT SOX where applicable.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement and refinement of project governance and methodology; support the evolution of ePMO strategy.
Manage and govern programs (multiple interrelated projects) or complex, high-risk initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and expected business outcomes.
Manage executive-level stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear business impacts and setting expectations at the C-suite level.
Develop and present formal project communications, including Steering Committee materials, to support executive decision-making.
Drive cross-functional alignment, navigate organizational dynamics, and secure resources to remove major obstacles.
Lead the management of key third-party vendors and strategic external partners.
Build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams, developing strong, collaborative relationships based on trust, transparency, and accountability.
Proactively identify and mitigate high-impact risks; escalate and resolve enterprise-level issues.
Implement Change Management and Operational Readiness strategies to support major organizational transitions.
Serve as a subject matter expert in advanced delivery frameworks (e.g., SAFe, portfolio management) to improve predictability and accelerate value delivery.
Ensure all impacted stakeholders are identified, engaged, and contributing to thorough requirements gathering and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with technical and business SMEs to establish a clear technical vision and evaluate trade-offs between performance and usability.
Ensure requirements, objectives, and guidelines are fully documented and actively monitored.
Develop critical-path baseline project plans to support effective execution and change management.
Ensure project controls are fully implemented to support successful internal and external audits.
Manage delivery of project scope, schedule, and budget through proactive financial oversight, cross-functional coordination, and regular reporting.
Address internal and external customer needs promptly, ensuring issue resolution supports both quality and business objectives.
Partner closely with vendors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of SOW obligations.
Apply formal change management processes when scope modifications are proposed.
Coordinate project team members to ensure efficient integration of work and optimal use of resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification—or equivalent combination of education and experience—is preferred.
7+ years of progressive project management experience delivering large-scale, complex programs or enterprise-wide transformations.
5+ years managing initiatives with agile and hybrid methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, hybrid waterfall/agile).
Proven experience managing budgets over $1M, including forecasting and variance analysis.
Strategic thinker with a strong ability to innovate in fast-paced environments.
Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and executive stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills for complex problem-solving, risk modeling, and business case development.
Proficient in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) with a focus on accelerating time-to-value.
Skilled in business requirements analysis and all phases of the SDLC.
Deep understanding of Operational Readiness, Go-to-Market planning, and Change Management.
Proficiency with G-Suite, Smartsheet, Monday.com, and Jira.
Strong financial forecasting and cost-management skills.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and business writing abilities.
Highly motivated, resourceful, and effective in leadership, organization, analysis, and conflict resolution.
PMP and/or ACP certification is an asset.
SAFe Agilist (SA), Scrum Master (CSM/SSM) certifications are an asset.
Bilingual French/English capability is an asset.
