Position: Senior Manager, HR Business Partner (Contract)

Location: Remote – Canada (Occasional Hybrid in Greater Toronto, ON)

Contract Length: Initial term, with potential for permanent hire

Our client is a North American leader in insurance services, supporting a growing portfolio of consumer-facing brands. As the company continues to evolve through rapid growth and recent M&A activity, they are investing in senior-level HR expertise to guide organizational change and ensure a strong, consistent employee experience across regions. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, HR Business Partner to support their Canadian operations in a contract role, with the potential to transition into a permanent position. This is a strategic yet hands-on opportunity to work with a high-growth organization during a pivotal moment of transformation. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to the Oakville, Ontario office and may include limited U.S. travel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead HR Business Partner for Canadian operations, acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational design.
  • Support HR transformation initiatives, including reorgs, restructuring, and post-M&A integration.
  • Manage employee relations, performance conversations, and engagement strategies—especially for high-turnover functions like call centers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with U.S. and global HR teams to ensure the alignment of programs and compliance with local labor laws.
  • Utilize Workday to support data integrity, reporting, and HR operations.
  • Collaborate on the rollout of people programs and change management strategies across the organization.
  • Maintain a culture of inclusion, accountability, and performance through coaching and HR best practices.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years as an HRBP or senior generalist.
  • Demonstrated success supporting organizations through M&A, org redesign, or complex change.
  • Strong proficiency with Workday is required.
  • Expertise in Canadian employment law and HR operations.
  • Experience managing employee relations in frontline or high-turnover workforces.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a distributed and evolving organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
