About the Role:

Our client, a large publicly traded organization with international operations, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, External Financial Reporting & MD&A to join its corporate reporting team. Reporting to the Manager, External Reporting, this role will play a key role in preparing external reporting deliverables, including Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), financial statement disclosures, variance analysis, and quarterly reporting packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), including supporting schedules, variance analysis, and disclosure documentation.
  • Analyze financial results, key performance indicators, and non-GAAP/non-IFRS measures, providing meaningful commentary for senior leadership and external reporting purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare management reporting packages, including analysis of actual results against prior periods, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with finance teams across multiple business units and jurisdictions to collect and validate information required for external reporting.
  • Review reporting submissions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Support quarterly and annual audit processes through the preparation of supporting schedules and responses to auditor requests.
  • Benchmark disclosure practices and identify opportunities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of external reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and reporting efficiencies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support staff as required.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA.
  • 3+ years of experience within public accounting (audit or advisory) and/or public company financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and public company reporting requirements.
  • Experience contributing to or preparing MD&A.
  • Experience preparing financial analysis, variance reporting, and management reporting packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate financial results into clear business commentary.
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting system experience.
