About our client:

Our client, located in Vaughan, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team!
This is a full time, permanent position, working in the office 5 days/week and requires someone with experience with % of accounting completion.

If you are an Accountant with 4+ yrs experience in either construction, real estate development or other related project accounting I'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • month end close in compliance with GAAP
  • preparation of monthly account reconciliations and journal entries
  • assist with audit
  • support the budgeting and forecasting process
  • HST returns
  • Tax filings
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Analyze and be able to speak to variances (actual results to budget)

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years accounting experience
  • CPA or working towards CPA designation
  • internal and external reporting experience
  • experience in the construction field preferred or related industry (real estate development, project based accounting)
  • working knowledge of WIP (Work in Progress) and % of completion accounting
  • experience with ERP systems and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • proven organizational and time management skills
  • ability to problem solve
  • ability to prioritize tasks and work in a high volume transaction environment
