Job Description


Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our client's business, located in Woodbridge. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial accounting and analysis tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead month-end closing activities, including AP, AR, and general accounting.
  • Ensure precise and timely monthly financial reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
  • Conduct periodic balance sheet reviews and execute monthly journal entries.
  • Analyze various accounts, including intercompany and cash accounts.
  • Manage payroll and benefits entries, resolving discrepancies with the payroll department.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers for accurate tracking of marketing inventory and expenses.
  • Assist in analyzing and reporting monthly and quarterly financial results.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations for commodity taxes.
  • Support internal and external audits and filings.
  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines for financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements:
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum 3 years of ERP system proficiency within a large organization.
  • Experience with corporate reporting, and internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and financial reporting controls.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Plant manufacturing experience is a plus.
