Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our client's business, located in Woodbridge. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial accounting and analysis tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Responsibilities:

Lead month-end closing activities, including AP, AR, and general accounting.
Ensure precise and timely monthly financial reporting.
Maintain and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
Conduct periodic balance sheet reviews and execute monthly journal entries.
Analyze various accounts, including intercompany and cash accounts.
Manage payroll and benefits entries, resolving discrepancies with the payroll department.
Collaborate with external suppliers for accurate tracking of marketing inventory and expenses.
Assist in analyzing and reporting monthly and quarterly financial results.
Ensure compliance with government regulations for commodity taxes.
Support internal and external audits and filings.
Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines for financial reporting.
Identify and implement process and system improvements.
Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements:

University degree or college diploma.
CPA designation.
Minimum 3 years of ERP system proficiency within a large organization.
Experience with corporate reporting, and internal and external audits.
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and financial reporting controls.
Strong multitasking and time management skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Plant manufacturing experience is a plus.
