About the firm:

A supply distribution company that services the GTA and surrounding areas with top-quality products and delivery. We have an exciting opportunity for their Controller. You will be a key member of the Finance team; you will be dedicated to ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial reporting. You will also support operational efficiency.

Essential Tasks:

• Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensures internal control and audit compliance.
• Provides continuous efforts to evaluate and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
• Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Handles all accounting activities for Yvon including but not limited to daily transactions, month-end close, and year-end reporting.
• Vendor payment management (EFT, Wire, Cheque) and ERP payment clearance
• Facilitates and supports monthly close procedures
• Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Supports annual physical inventory count
• Supports the Accounting team with special projects and workflow process improvements
• Performs various month-end procedures and entries, including preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, review, and analysis
• Assists in the year-end reporting, monthly reporting, budgeting, and audit procedures
• Provides analytical support to other departments as needed
• Prepares various ad hoc financial reports
• Cross -rains and serves as back-up for other accounting duties
• Maintain a safe working environment by following the firm's health and safety guidelines
• Performs other related duties as required

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Enrolled in an Accounting program, or designated an Accountant

Experience for this role:

• Greater than three years prior experience at an Accountant level

• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Proficiency with ERP systems, including Microsoft
