We are seeking a Senior Accountant – Project Accounting to join our client's global, publicly traded organization, supporting a dynamic portfolio of assets. In this role, you will take ownership of assigned entities, serving as a key point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders while ensuring the accounting integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. You will play a critical role in analyzing complex accounting matters, preparing financial statements, and supporting the full close cycle, while contributing to variance analysis, general ledger integrity, and fixed asset accounting. This position also involves overseeing accounting for assets under construction through to commercial operation, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements, and driving continuous improvement through participation in special projects across the broader finance function.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary accounting contact for assigned entities, ensuring effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and document analysis of complex accounting issues, including presenting findings, conclusions, and implementation approaches to the Accounting team and impacted stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Record and review journal entries as part of the full financial close cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end processes.
  • Perform monthly review and maintenance of general ledger accounts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly variance reporting, providing meaningful financial insights.
  • Prepare and post Fixed Asset Module journal entries for the asset portfolio.
  • Account for assets under construction, ensuring accurate tracking, capitalization, and timely transfer to Property, Plant & Equipment (PPE) upon Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Complete SOX compliance documentation for projects under construction and completed projects in accordance with internal control requirements.
  • Support or lead special projects and initiatives within the accounting function or broader finance organization, including cross-functional collaboration as required.

is a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, working independently, and adapting quickly to changing business needs. With a strong foundation in accounting principles and a continuous improvement mindset, you bring curiosity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful individual will have experience working with complex financial data, demonstrate sound judgment in applying accounting standards and internal controls, and ideally have exposure to publicly traded environments. Previous experience in project accounting is highly desirable. A CPA designation in progress or completed, along with strong systems proficiency and a collaborative mindset, will be key to success in this role.
