About the Firm:

Our client is a leader in the HR SAAS space, providing solutions to their client’s workforce to help improve employee satisfaction and retention is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a 6-month contract. Having their office in a beautiful part of the Toronto area, they offer flexible working conditions, a robust team atmosphere, and leadership opportunities.

Essential Tasks: The Senior Accountant, will also assist The Senior Manager, Accounting:
  • Review customer contracts to ensure the accuracy of revenue recognition.
  • Record monthly complex revenue transactions including the allocation of contractual performance obligations and breakage revenue.
  • Understand US GAAP requirements relevant to the financial cycles supported.
  • Record foreign currency transactions.
  • Conduct analyses of balance sheet and operating results by performing account reconciliations and investigating variances, including reviewing for accuracy and classification appropriateness.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for audits and provide audit support as it relates to external and ad hoc audits.
  • Generate transactional data and ad-hoc analysis to support operational decision-making, with recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects that mitigate risk and drive efficiency in work processes for the Finance team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation.
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting, reporting and analysis experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with US GAAP is strongly preferred.
  • Direct experience in a Software as a Service (“SAAS”) environment is an asset.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Advanced Revenue Management is strongly
  • preferred.
