A service wholesale firm that works in the industrious arena with clients needing hydraulic equipment. A firm that has reached a point of need that a Sale Support Engineer could assist in their ability to service effectively.
Essential Tasks:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically capable Sales Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in bridging engineering and sales, supporting both the pre-sale and post-sale stages. You'll assist in preparing technical estimates, BOMs, and drawings, while also supporting the Sales Manager and engaging with customers throughout the sales process and after delivery. This role offers a clear path toward becoming a Technical Sales Representative, with increasing customer-facing responsibilities.
Pre-Sales Engineering & Support:
- Generate accurate quotes, technical estimates, and complete Bill of Materials (BOMs) for hydraulic power units and systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including exploded drawings, layout diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Assist in evaluating customer requirements and providing recommendations for product configurations.
- Work with internal engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop compelling proposals and respond to RFQs.
Sales Support & Customer Interaction:
- Act as a technical liaison during the sales process, helping address customer questions and design considerations.
- Provide post-sale support by coordinating with production and engineering teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and on-time delivery.
- Respond to customer inquiries after the sale, including requests for documentation, technical assistance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate records of customer communications and sales activities in CRM tools.
- Follow up with customers post-delivery to ensure satisfaction and capture feedback for continuous improvement.
Growth & Development:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of The Firm's product lines, system capabilities, and customer applications.
- Develop skills and relationships to transition into a Technical Sales Representative role.
- Support trade shows, product demos, and occasional site visits as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Fluid Power Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in a sales support, inside sales, or engineering environment— preferably in hydraulics or industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic components and system design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking ability.
- Eagerness to grow into a customer-facing sales engineering role.
