They are seeking a Director, Sales & Marketing to join their senior management team and lead the commercial strategy across multiple business units. This is a high-impact, on-site leadership role overseeing sales strategy, market expansion, pricing, customer growth, and the development of a team of Sales Managers.


Responsibilities:

The Director, Sales & Marketing will lead a combination of strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on commercial execution, including:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop, lead, and execute both long-term and short-term sales strategies across all business divisions
    • Build and deliver the annual Sales & Marketing plan, including revenue targets and growth objectives
    • Identify new markets, customer segments, and adjacent opportunities to expand the business
    • Develop pricing strategies and go-to-market plans for major customers and partnerships
  • Sales Management & Growth
    • Manage the full sales process, including pipeline development, targets, KPIs, and performance reporting
    • Guide and support a team of Sales Managers to achieve revenue, margin, and customer growth goals
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and lead strategic client meetings as needed
    • Oversee and grow brokerage-related revenue streams
  • Team Leadership
    • Coach, mentor, and develop Sales Managers, building a high-performance, team-oriented culture
    • Support succession planning and leadership development within the team
    • Foster collaboration across Sales, Finance, Operations, and Senior Leadership
  • Budgeting & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Set and manage the annual sales budget in collaboration with Finance
    • Partner with Operations to ensure service alignment, customer satisfaction, and delivery expectations
    • Provide market insights to support organizational strategy and decision-making
  • Travel
    • Travel up to 25% throughout Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, and the Northeastern U.S.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role
  • Proven ability to lead leaders (i.e., directly managing Sales Managers or comparable team leads)
  • Demonstrated success in growing revenue, expanding markets, and improving margins through pricing and mix strategies
  • Strong executive presence and confidence in high-level customer and senior leadership interactions
  • Ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and hands-on execution levels
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities; proficiency with CRM systems, TMS tools, and Excel
  • Willingness and eligibility to travel cross-border (primarily to the Northeastern U.S.)
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA/EMBA considered an asset
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or an adjacent B2B commercial environment
  • Established network of customer or channel relationships
  • Experience overseeing brokerage operations or multi-region sales teams
