Our client, a leader in the wholesale building materials industry, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Nova Scotia fastener market. This is a field-based role ideal for a natural sales hunter who thrives on building strong relationships and uncovering new business opportunities.
You'll be responsible for generating revenue from both existing clients and new prospects, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to overall market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximize retention and growth
Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and execute strategic sales plans
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
Partner with the inside sales team to achieve territory sales goals
Deliver exceptional service by addressing client questions and concerns promptly
Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to management
Stay up to date on product knowledge and industry developments through ongoing training
Qualifications:
2–5 years of outside sales experience, ideally in the fastener or building materials industry
Proven success in business development and account management
Strong technical knowledge of fastener products and their applications (preferred)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working independently and managing a travel-heavy schedule across Nova Scotia
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
