Sales Executive – Wholesale Building Materials
Location: Nationwide (Remote/Travel Required)
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Sales Executive to join our clients team at a leading wholesale building materials company. The ideal candidate will have over 7-10 years of national-level sales experience within the resilient flooring industry, including expertise in products such as homogeneous vinyl, rubber flooring, and rolled vinyl resilient flooring and rolled vinyl flooring. Additionally, experience working with the healthcare system, specifically within the Private, Public, Partnership (P3) framework, is crucial. This role involves building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, as well as spearheading nationwide sales initiatives for flooring products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Lead national sales efforts for flooring products, including rubber, homogeneous vinyl, rolled goods, and other related materials across the United States and internationally.
- Healthcare Sector Focus: Leverage a deep understanding of the healthcare system, particularly PPP (Private, Public, and Project), to identify, target, and successfully close business with hospitals, healthcare facilities, and related organizations.
- Relationship Development: Build long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, such as hospital administrators, architects, contractors, and procurement managers. Identify decision-makers and influencers to drive product specifications and sales.
- Project Specification: Work closely with project teams to understand flooring specifications and needs for large-scale healthcare projects. Be proactive in helping customers navigate the complex specifications and purchasing processes in the healthcare space.
- Lead Generation & Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new leads, maintain a robust pipeline, and increase market share by actively reaching out to new clients and expanding existing relationships.
- Travel & Customer Engagement: Engage in regular travel (internationally 4-6 times per year) to visit key clients and attend customer appreciation events, as well as provide on-site support and maintain relationships at a global level. Travel to regions such as the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, the USA, and Tropical islands.
- Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient project delivery. Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of national sales experience in the building materials industry, specifically in resilient flooring products (homogeneous vinyl, luxury vinyl tile, SPC, rolled goods, etc.).
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, specifically the Private, Public, and Partnership (P3), design-build, design bid-build, and procurement model. Familiarity with key stakeholders in healthcare projects and the ability to specify flooring solutions effectively.
- Sales Leadership: Proven ability to lead and drive sales for a company on a national scale, with a track record of success in both individual performance and team management.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to engage with clients at all levels, from project teams to senior management and C-suite executives.
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel internationally and domestically, including customer visits, factory tours, and client events.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other sales tools. Ability to utilize technology to manage relationships and track sales progress.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adjust to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
