Position Title: Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Specialist

Contract Duration: 6 months
Salary: $35-$45/hour

Location: Ottawa, ON

Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite

We are seeking a passionate and driven Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our client and help them continue to grow their amazing workforce. This opportunity is a six (6) month contract and an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a crown corporation. You will be reporting to the Manager – Talent Acquisition and be part of a small but impactful group. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to thrive in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Sourcing & Recruitment:
    • Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to identify and engage top talent through various channels (job boards, social media, networking, employee referrals).
    • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
  2. Candidate Experience:
    • Build strong relationships with candidates, ensuring clear communication and a positive hiring experience.
    • Guide candidates through the recruitment process, from initial contact to onboarding.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
    • Provide regular updates on recruitment progress and market insights.
  4. Recruitment Process Management:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
    • Ensure compliance with legal and company hiring policies and procedures.
  5. Employer Branding & Networking:
    • Represent the company at career fairs, networking events, and industry conferences.
    • Collaborate on employer branding initiatives to enhance the company’s market presence.

The ideal candidate will be available for a six-month contract and bring over 4 years of full-cycle recruitment experience. This includes managing the entire talent acquisition process, from conducting intake meetings with stakeholders to handling offer negotiations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of staffing roles across diverse operational portfolios, including accounting/finance, IT, and business development. Experience in agency recruitment across multiple skillsets and success in managing high-volume hiring mandates is essential. Familiarity with HRIS or ATS systems is required. The role demands a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adapt to evolving recruitment needs
