About the Role:
Our client is looking for a Real Estate Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.. This role will heavily be focused on job costing for commercial development projects.
- Overseeing the job set up and related commitments
- Management of vendor invoice payment process
- Management of holdback liability account
- Monthly calculation and posting building and leasing cost amortization and accruals
- Coordination and preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Calculation and invoicing of internal fees
- Generation of invoices for insurance claim reimbursement and recovery of construction costs from third parties
- Cyclical and ad hoc reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
- Minimum 1-2 years of job costing experience within Real Estate development required
- Intention to pursue or pursuing CPA a strong asset
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong self-motivation, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
