The Quality Control Officer / Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the company’s quality assurance and quality control functions by leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS). This system is critical to ensuring that products consistently conform to established quality standards and meet customer expectations. The Quality Officer is responsible for leading the Quality team, fostering the adoption of quality policies, and setting high standards across all stages of the product lifecycle.
In this role, the Quality Officer / Manager collaborates closely with various departments, including Project Management, Engineering, Production, and the Performance Improvement team. This collaboration ensures an integrated approach to quality management that supports sustainable growth and preserves our reputation as a quality-focused organization. We are looking for someone who wants to lead and build a team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Ideal Candidate for the Quality Officer / Manager role must possess a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and support the Quality team in achieving excellence. Candidates for this role should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of progressive experience in quality control or assurance. Essential skills include a thorough understanding of quality control and assurance processes, familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, and strong data analysis and statistical abilities. The candidate will also demonstrate exceptional active listening skills, excellent written and spoken communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting. Effective people management skills are crucial, including the ability to motivate and engage team members. Additionally, strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, with a willingness to challenge the status quo to achieve optimal results. Preferred qualifications include training in project management and certification in quality management methodologies such as Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM). These additional qualifications will enhance the candidate's ability to lead and implement quality improvement initiatives within the organization.
