Job Description

Production Manager – Burlington (On-Site)

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations at our Burlington facility. This role leads three production-floor supervisors and is responsible for schedule attainment, capacity planning, labour optimization, team development, scrap reduction, and lean practices.


Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Operations

  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and customer demand.

  • Coordinate raw material delivery timing and team work schedules.

  • Monitor daily performance, respond quickly to delays, equipment issues, or staffing shortages.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend continuous improvement solutions.

  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to support ETO project execution.

  • Align production plans with company objectives and collaborate with senior leadership.

Equipment & Process Management

  • Oversee routine maintenance and repair scheduling to ensure equipment uptime.

  • Support Kaizen activities through data collection, time studies, and sustainment.

  • Document standard work, procedures, and visual management tools.

Performance & Metrics

  • Track, analyze, and report key production metrics (capacity, labour efficiency, scrap, OEE).

  • Report production performance, downtime, and efficiency to senior management.

  • Manage departmental budgets, control production costs, and drive productivity improvements.

People Leadership

  • Conduct performance reviews and create development plans for team members.

  • Support training and skill development across production teams.

  • Promote a strong safety culture.

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability within a structured operating system.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain.

  • 5–10 years of manufacturing experience (industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or similar).

  • At least 5 years implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma).

  • Experience with project management and governance frameworks.

  • Skilled in root cause analysis, 5S audits, and leading daily tier meetings.

  • Strong ability to translate organizational goals into departmental plans, KPIs, and initiatives.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; MRP/ERP experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills with a focus on employee development and performance management.
