Our client a leading distributor in the food services industry is seeking a talented Buyer/Procurement Manager. This role will be integral in facilitating the smooth flow of our South Asian food products by employing effective sourcing, negotiation, and inventory management strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a robust procurement background, a keen understanding of market trends, and the capacity to cultivate strong supplier relationships. This hands-on role will be in the office working in a positive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and procure high-quality South Asian food products and commodities from both local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure competitive advantages and ensure profitability.
• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to attain optimal deals.
• Analyze sales trends and patterns to make informed procurement decisions.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
• Utilize forecasting tools to predict market trends and customer preferences accurately.
• Coordinate and schedule freight for incoming shipments.
• Negotiate freight rates to maximize cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with logistics partners to guarantee timely and efficient product delivery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Buyer/Procurement Manager in the food industry, with a focus on South Asian products.
• Strong negotiation skills, capable of securing favorable terms and pricing
• Proficient in Hindi and/or Urdu
• Analytical mindset, proficient in interpreting sales data and forecasting accurately.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Familiarity with international trade regulations and logistics.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Note: Experience in South Eastern Asian markets is required.
