Job Description

We are seeking a talented Pension Administrator to support the day-to-day administration of a defined benefit pension plan. This role is responsible for performing pension benefit calculations, responding to member inquiries, and ensuring accurate and compliant plan administration in accordance with plan rules and applicable legislation. The position works closely with a collaborative benefits and pension team while providing exceptional service to plan members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pension benefit calculations, including retirements, terminations, past service purchases, and early retirement estimates
  • Calculate member entitlements in accordance with plan provisions and pension legislation
  • Maintain and update records within the pension administration system
  • Support case management and workflow to ensure accuracy and service standards are met
  • Escalate complex cases when required and assist with special projects
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding pension benefits and plan provisions in a clear, timely, and professional manner
  • Provide members with the required documentation and information related to their pension benefits
  • Assist with resolving plan-related issues and inquiries
  • Assist with annual pension reporting, statements, and regulatory filings
  • Support preparation and validation of year-end reporting, including pension adjustments and tax reporting
  • Assist with compiling data for valuation reports and other reporting requirements

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of pension administration experience, preferably within a defined benefit pension environment
  • Knowledge of pension legislation and pension benefit calculations
  • Experience with pension administration systems and strong Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
