Payroll Manager
Location: Mississauga (on site)

We’re working with a long-standing client—an established and growing organization with national operations—to help them find a Payroll Manager to lead their internal payroll function. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a critical business area, manage staff, and ensure payroll is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for employees across multiple provinces
  • Lead and support a payroll professional, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance oversight
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial legislation related to payroll, source deductions, and remittances
  • Handle year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, audits, and issuing of T4s and other tax forms
  • Partner with HR and Finance to align on payroll-related accounting, reporting, and benefits administration
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure the accuracy of data in the payroll system (ADP Workforce Now)
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Serve as the main point of contact for government agencies (CRA, Revenu Québec, Service Canada)
  • Continuously review payroll processes and systems to identify improvements and efficiencies

About You

  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
  • PCP certification required; PLP designation is considered an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting and reconciliations
  • Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing deadlines
