ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client a boutique firm has one of the larger foreclosure practices in British Columbia as well as a large contingency collection practice and we represent a broad cross-section of large institutional lenders as well as private lenders. Since 1996, the practice has focused almost exclusively on mortgage enforcement and unsecured collections which has allowed us to develop a high level of expertise in our chosen practice areas to better serve our clients in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. They are looking for a SR PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT to join their collection department. They require individuals who can handle a high volume of work, who are technically inclined, and who have at least four years of civil litigation experience. APPLY TODAY!
Salary ranges from $65,000 to $90,000

Responsibilities

File opening
LTSA, BC Registries, & Credit Bureau searches
Preparation of demand letters
Preparation of Notice of Civil Claim and other legal documents
Filing of documents with Court Services
Communicating with process servers, agents, & other service providers
Attend to and monitor the service of documents and/or alternative service
Registration of documents with LTO
Attend to all correspondence
Preparation of payout letters, settlement letters, payment arrangement letters
Dealing with debtor’s enquiries and reporting to the collection manager
File closures
File management including organizing and managing documents and maintaining a BF
system
General administrative tasks as required

Requirements

Intermediate to Senior collection experience
Paralegal or Legal Assistant diploma from an accredited educational institution or equivalent
work experience
Well-organized, methodical, with meticulous attention to detail
Self-motivated and prepared to take initiative with file management
Ability to manage a high volume of work
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills
Strong skills and sound knowledge of Office 365
Experience with NetDocuments would be considered an asset
