About our Client

Our client, a leader in manufacturing flexible packaging is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Press Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting and monitoring the three shifts of the printing press teams and working closely with the scheduling and quality control managers. Salary - $80K annually plus bonus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the laborers who assemble and run the flexographic printing press.
  • Organize and train the printing press staff to create high-performing teams.
  • Help the Scheduling Manager create schedules for the machines and the staffing.
  • Help with the analysis and implementation of new systems, methods, and improved process flows in the press.
  • Help the quality control manager create and implement corporate quality control policies, as well as provide staff training.
  • Consult with the Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot operator problems and support the Maintenance team when required.
  • Engage in audits that cover the entire organization.
  • Take part in making the production space more hygienic and well-organized.
  • Assist with staff training and prioritize health and safety.
  • Prepare management reports and other pertinent tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience supervising workers in a manufacturing setting.
  • Three years of hands-on flexographic printing press operation experience.
  • Knowledge about the conversion equipment for flexible packaging is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or college.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Friendly and positive demeanor.
