Contract Duration: Starting mid June (9-12 months)

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented part time Senior Accountant / Junior Controller to join our client’s (education field) dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in both managing day-to-day accounting operations and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and proactive, with a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience with financial reporting, and the ability to contribute to process improvements. This position offers the opportunity to grow within the finance function while making a meaningful impact on the organization’s financial health and business performance.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, and a minimum of 5 years of full cycle accounting experience. CPA pursuit or designation would be considered an asset. You will bring proven experience in a role as a Senior Accountant, handling the full cycle accounting, payroll and budget process within a small to mid-size company. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting best practices and hands-on expertise in budgeting, account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, and financial analysis. Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or comparable platforms, is essential. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Exceptional communication skills are also required to effectively convey complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels, supporting informed decision-making and the overall success of the finance team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education excellence and can take accountabilities for all accounting and financial duties while acting as the subject matter expert for stakeholder and parents.
