Our client is an industrial machinery manufacturing company and part of one of the largest extruding companies in North America, providing specialised downstream equipment for the plastics industry. They are looking to add a Mechanical Designer to help design, develop and test mechanical components and tools, including custom and specialized machinery.
Responsibilities
- work closely with the project manager and senior designers
- contribute to the design of improvements for existing products / machinery / equipment
- ability to read basic/complex engineering drawings and interpret customer specifications
- understanding of manufactured equipment including welding, fabrication and power transmission design
- experience in a manufacturing environment that involves the transformation of steel (machining, cutting, shearing, welding, painting and assemble) into finished product.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical designer in machinery manufacturing industries
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
- Proficient in 3D design software/applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
