About Our Client

Our client in Vaughan, a leader in the Manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Product Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. They will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring that all manufacturing operations run safely and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain steel door and frame models in accordance with Vision standards and customer requirements.
  • Prepare detailed CAD drawings, shop drawings, and technical documentation for production approval.
  • Ensure all products comply with UL, WHI, and CSA requirements for fire rating, safety, and performance.
  • Review architectural and hardware schedules to ensure accuracy and feasibility before production release.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and item routings.
  • Provide technical support to the production team regarding design specifications, tolerances, and material selections.
  • Assist in resolving engineering-related nonconformities, design changes, and product issues.
  • Support manufacturing with the implementation of new designs, prototypes, and custom solutions.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects to enhance product manufacturability and reduce costs.
  • Ensure products meet internal quality control standards and customer expectations.
  • Participate in first article inspections and maintain product design revisions.
  • Support quality assurance with root cause analysis for any product-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering records, drawings, and revision logs.
  • Communicate design updates or engineering changes to all affected departments.
  • Work closely with sales, estimating, and customer service to clarify technical details.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in metal fabrication, door and frame manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal design, tolerances, and fabrication methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of UL and WHI standards for fire-rated products is an asset.
