About Our Client

Our client in Vaughan, a leader in the Manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. They will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring that all manufacturing operations run safely and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for door and frame fabrication.
  • Design efficient workflows, workstation layouts, and material flow for key equipment (e.g., roll former, brake presses, spot welders, glue/PUR line).
  • Conduct time studies and bottleneck analyses to identify opportunities for throughput improvement.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for production teams.
  • Evaluate and implement tooling improvements, jigs, and fixtures to enhance consistency and quality.
  • Support the setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and automation teams on new equipment purchases or upgrades.
  • Analyze production issues and lead root cause and corrective actions.
  • Support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and downtime.
  • Participate in cost reduction and process improvement projects that enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure all processes comply with safety and quality standards.\
  • Work closely with Product Engineering to ensure new designs are manufacturable.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Operators to understand daily challenges and provide technical support.
  • Partner with purchasing and suppliers to specify and qualify materials and tooling.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement within a metal fabrication environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and process analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of metal forming, welding, painting, and assembly operations.
