About Our Client

Our client is a growing and well-established organization in the aerospace and logistics sector, currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper / Receiver (Certified Forklift Operator) to join their team. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative and supportive work environment, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting with a mix of shipping, receiving, and inventory responsibilities. There is potential for this role to transition into a longer-term opportunity based on business needs.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Salary: Up to $25 an hour
  • Job Type: Temporary ( 6months)

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Determining methods of shipment and preparing shipping documentation including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
  • Picking, packing, and preparing goods for shipment while ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
  • Assembling containers and crates, packing goods securely, and affixing appropriate shipping instructions.
  • Overseeing the loading and unloading of goods from trucks and other transport vehicles.
  • Inspecting incoming shipments, verifying against documentation, and reporting shortages or damages.
  • Unpacking and organizing inventory, and routing items to appropriate storage areas.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records using manual or computerized systems.
  • Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Receiving shipments, checking for damages, and organizing stock for storage or distribution.
  • Fulfilling orders by picking items from inventory and preparing them for delivery.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers to reorder stock and shipping supplies as needed.
  • Communicating with suppliers to resolve shipping discrepancies or issues.

Qualifications

  • Valid forklift certification is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and shipping procedures.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a physically active environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Secondary school education preferred.
