This role offers an accelerating environment where you will work closely with senior executive leadership during a period of high deal volume.

Responsibilities

  • Gatekeep Deal Flow: Act as the primary filter for all incoming mortgage deal submissions to protect executive timelines.
  • Conduct Preliminary Reviews: Evaluate incoming credit applications, property valuations, and financial statements rapidly.
  • Execute File Triaging: Perform initial "blocking and tackling" to assess deal viability before senior sign-off.
  • Package Risk Submissions: Synthesize complex file data into concise summaries for the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Clear Conditions Fast: Follow up on missing documentation to push approved files to immediate funding.

Qualifications

  • Industry Registration: Active registration as a Mortgage Broker or Agent in Ontario is highly preferred.
  • Underwriting Experience: Proven track record underwriting residential or commercial mortgages in Canada.
  • High-Volume Capability: Ability to manage heavy file pipelines under tight, high-pressure deadlines.
  • Sharp Analytical Skills: Exceptional eye for spotting credit risks and documentation gaps instantly.
  • Executive Communication: Confidence to present clear, concise recommendations directly to C-suite executives.
