Job Description

Our client is seeking a Manager, Human Resources & Payroll to provide leadership across HR and payroll operations in a national, not-for-profit-driven organization. This role supports a respectful and well-governed workplace by ensuring people practices, compensation, and payroll services align with organizational values, compliance requirements, and operational needs.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Manager acts as an advisor, leads a dedicated HR and Payroll team, and supports leaders and staff through people-centred practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, performance management, recognition, and succession planning programs

  • Oversee HR policies, employee relations, workplace health & safety, and legislative compliance

  • Manage and mentor HR and Payroll teams, fostering collaboration and continuous learning

  • Oversee compensation frameworks, pay equity, benefits, and payroll operations

  • Act as the primary liaison with payroll service providers and support system improvements

  • Provide workforce reporting and insights to support planning, engagement, and organizational effectiveness

  • Champion equity, inclusion, and respectful workplace practices across the organization

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; CHRP/CHRL preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive HR and payroll experience, including people leadership

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices

  • Experience in not-for-profit or purpose-driven organizations is an asset
