Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee & Labour Relations, you will lead complex and high-risk employee and labour relations matters, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on litigation-sensitive workplace issues. This role includes interpreting and administering collective agreements, managing grievances and arbitration preparation, and leading workplace investigations. You will ensure compliance with employment legislation, coordinate responses to external agencies, support collective bargaining efforts, and oversee accommodation and return-to-work cases, while contributing to policy development, risk mitigation, and the continuous improvement of labour relations practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee and labour relations
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment and labour legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, WSIB)
  • Experience in policy interpretation, case management, and providing HR advice
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field is preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered
  • CHRP designation is an asset
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Level Clearance with the Government of Canada
