About Our Client

Our client, located in Toronto, is looking for a Manager, Human Resources & Operations to cover a 12-month maternity leave contract. The role is located in downtown Toronto and requires 4 days in office.

Responsibilities

This role is a true Generalist opportunity in a fast-paced and dynamic organization.

The successful candidate will oversee all areas of Human Resources and operations inclusive of, but not limited to:

  • Employee relations - feedback & investigations, performance management, human rights, etc.
  • Implementing and monitoring required updates to HR policies and procedures
  • Managing the overall People Strategy, as it relates to the business, and working alongside the Senior Leadership Team
  • Overseeing full-cycle recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and vendor relationship management
  • Reviewing compensation and benefits to ensure best-in-class and equitable across the board
  • Overseeing Training and development opportunities for all employees (Respect in the Workplace, Anti-harassment, etc.)
  • Managing the People & Operations budget to ensure the most cost-effective operation of the office
  • With support from the Office Assistant
    • Managing all aspects of IT and equipment requirements
    • Overseeing all areas of Office Services & Facilities Management
  • Ad hoc projects/tasks within HR & Operations, as required

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in a Generalist capacity
  • CHRP or CHRL Certified would be a strong asset
  • Demonstrated skills in managing a dual portfolio or highly dynamic role, with direct reports
  • Proactive & creative thinker with the capacity to solve problems efficiently
  • Strong skills in building internal & external relationships, specifically with C-Level Executives
  • Up-to-date and clear understanding of Ontario employment law and regulations
  • Personable and welcoming demeanor, with a passion for being an advocate for people
