POSITION: MAINTENANCE POWER ENGINEER 4TH CLASS - PHSA

JOB TYPE: FULL-TIME PERMANENT

STARTING WAGE: $34.52/hr

WORKING HOURS: 9 am to 5 pm

START DATE: ASAP

LOCATION: 600 WEST 10TH AVENUE VANCOUVER, BC, V5Z 4E6

Responsibilities

Operating chillers, expansible fluid, and air conditioning systems
Monitoring and recording meter and gauge readings to ensure the distribution of steam/air heating to designated areas
Performing preventative and demand maintenance on heat exchangers, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
Testing and maintaining chillers, pumps, and cooling towers, and repairs/adjusts as required
Performing water treatment analyses and adding chemicals
Maintaining and repairing steam piping systems including valves, steam traps, strainers, etc.
Performing mechanical and electrical repairs on systems such as heating, air-handling, and pneumatic tube systems
Plastering, painting, and decorating by selecting and applying a variety of paint, plaster, and wall coverings
Processing individual purchase requests and preparing purchase orders based on request
Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment in accordance with standard procedures
Reporting unsafe situations by notifying the supervisor or other appropriate personnel
Performing other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Graduation in power engineering from a recognized institution is a must
Relevant experience of 4 years, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience
Certificate of competency as a 4th class power engineer
Ability to communicate efficiently both in a verbal and written manner
Interpersonal and organizational skills
Physical ability to perform the job's requirements is required
Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
Ability to use relevant machinery
