About Our Client

Our client is a well-established manufacturing organization committed to operational efficiency, safety, and excellence. They foster a collaborative and results-driven environment where leadership, technical skill, and proactive maintenance strategies are highly valued. They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee their facility’s maintenance operations and ensure equipment, machinery, and building systems operate safely and reliably.

Compensation: CA$70,000 – CA$90,000 per year

Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a structured preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks through a CMMS system to support production schedules.
  • Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Guide technicians in resolving complex equipment issues and offer technical expertise for installations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Supervise major equipment installations, system upgrades, and relocations.
  • Ensure proper operation of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air.
  • Oversee inventory of spare parts and control maintenance-related expenses.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, such as equipment reliability and downtime, to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff to foster a skilled, high-performing team.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and coaching to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Manage external service providers and contractors to ensure quality work.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with production, scheduling, and engineering teams to ensure maintenance activities align with operational needs.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to address technical and operational challenges.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety regulations and company standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and proactive preventive practices.

Quality & Housekeeping

  • Track equipment-related issues affecting product quality and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing maintenance operations in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Experience using CMMS software to manage maintenance workflows.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a technical team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and cost-management abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
