Our Client is an established property management company in the Ottawa area that has spanned generations. The organization is a well-run small business with sites on acquisition and expansion; with over 800 units in the Nation's Capital, they can offer a variety of property options to their tenants. Under strong leadership, the organization prides itself on treating all employees like family, and they are currently seeking a live-in Superintendent for one of their sites as a result of a new portfolio of residential sites.
We have an immediate opening for a live-in Superintendent to live and work at a downtown site. Great opportunity to have rent covered in a crazy real estate market and be able to work where you live. As the Live-In Super, you would be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the site up to about 100-200 units. Liaising with tenants, property managers, and subcontractors will be an important part of this role, so excellent customer service and interpersonal skills will be needed. As the on-site Live In Super, you will bring a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing services and a passion for working with your hands, this organization can provide the stability you seek. Knowledge of fire codes, health & safety, building codes, and by-laws will be expected. Inventory management of building requirements, coordination of laborers and cleaners, and management of tenant moves in and out will be expected. OT may be needed.
The ideal candidate will be handy and know their way around general maintenance. You will have a cleaning team to support you, but we are looking for someone who understands the maintenance and is looking for a site to live. This role is ideal for someone who loves general fixer-upper projects, is fantastic at dealing with people, and can be reliable to support the property manager for any maintenance-related issues. You will be available to tenants and have the benefit of an apartment in a challenging real estate market.
What will make you stand out:
