Position Title: Litigation Lawyer

A respected boutique law firm located in central Ottawa is currently seeking a seasoned Litigation Lawyer to support its expanding practice. The firm offers a focused litigation portfolio, primarily in corporate, commercial, and business matters, and serves a varied client base that includes businesses, institutions, and individual clients. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation professional interested in contributing to a growing team that values strategic advocacy, effective negotiation, and client-focused outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of corporate commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, shareholder remedies, debt collection, enforcement actions, and business disputes.
• Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation across various industries.
• Conduct legal research, case analysis, and drafting of complex agreements, pleadings, motions, and legal opinions.
• Manage files independently from inception to resolution, including court appearances, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
• Advise clients on legal risks, dispute resolution strategies, and best practices in corporate governance and compliance.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues on cases involving bankruptcy & insolvency, real estate disputes, insurance law, privacy law, and estate litigation.
• Participate in workplace investigations and complex contractual negotiations on behalf of corporate clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 7+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on corporate commercial litigation.
• Strong courtroom advocacy skills and experience handling complex legal disputes.
• Expertise in contract law, shareholder disputes, debt enforcement, and business litigation.
• Experience with arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Ability to manage multiple files independently and provide strategic legal counsel.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and active member of the Canadian Bar Association an asset
