Job Description

Our client is a well-established law firm and is currently looking for an experienced Insurance Defence Legal Assistant to join their dynamic team.

This is a hybrid role based in downtown Toronto, with lots of opportunities to work & grow alongside a people-centric, fun & dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and drafting legal documents and correspondence for up to a maximum of two (2) lawyers
  • Organizing lawyers’ calendars, managing file timeliness, and maintaining systems
  • Performing various administrative tasks including file opening, billing, and following up on outstanding accounts
  • Communicating with clients, counsel, and other parties as required
  • Other administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an Insurance Defence Legal Assistant
  • Paralegal certification/diploma from an accredited institution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
  • Self-starter who thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environments
