About Our Client

Our client, a member-based Canadian professional services organization, is seeking a Learning & Development Advisor to support the design, development, and launch of professional development learning programs for their member community. This is a 6-month contract position requiring 3 days / week in office in Toronto.

This 6-month contract is ideal for an experienced learning professional with a strong background in instructional design and adult education. The role involves working closely with the existing design team while also using your network to source subject matter experts as needed. The goal of this role is to drive enrollment through developing engaging, valuable, practical learning experiences. Each course must support the ongoing evolution of the student's professional development portfolio.


Responsibilities:

The Learning & Development Advisor will collaborate with internal teams and external experts and will be responsible for a range of activities, including:

  • Supporting the end-to-end development of professional learning courses, from concept through to launch
  • Reviewing existing courses to identify gaps and opportunities
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives, course structure, and content scope
  • Translating complex topics into clear, engaging, and practical learning experiences aligned with CPD requirements
  • Supporting the identification and onboarding of SMEs
  • Managing multiple course development projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, quality, and deliverables are met
  • Contributing to the evolution of the professional development portfolio by identifying emerging skills and learning needs
  • Reviewing and refining course content to ensure relevance, clarity, and learner engagement
  • Partnering with internal teams (e.g., marketing and operations) to support the launch and positioning of new programs
  • Preparing course descriptions, learning outcomes, and supporting materials for catalogue inclusion


Required Qualifications:

The following are minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Post-secondary education in Learning & Development, Adult Education, and Instructional Design
  • Proven experience developing virtual professional or technical learning content for CPDs in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Strong ability to translate complex information into structured, engaging learning experiences
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, timelines, and concurrent projects
  • Experience supporting learning within professional services, associations, or regulated environments
  • Experience attending/taking required CPD courses as part of an association considered an asset
