Position Title: Law Clerk – Corporate / Commercial Litigation

Location: Ottawa, ON

Our client is a well established and dedicated small law firm specializing in corporate commercial litigation. Our team values excellence, collaboration, and delivering outstanding results for our clients. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join their team and support our growing caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers with all aspects of corporate commercial litigation, including preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, and briefs.
  • Manage case files, ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda to support case strategies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Attend court with counsel as required to provide support during proceedings.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, docket management, and maintaining accurate records

The ideal candidate will possess post secondary education as a legal administrator / law clerk and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a litigation-focused role, with a strong preference for corporate commercial matters. They should be proficient in legal research tools and platforms, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. The candidate should demonstrate the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and be familiar with e-filing systems and court procedures.



What would make you stand out:

  • 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably corporate commercial matters
  • Advanced technical skills for document reviews, and e-filings
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills
  • Courtroom support experience, including preparing trial materials and providing real-time support during proceedings
