Our client, a well-established Media company is seeking an Intermediate Business Systems Analyst for their growing team. This is a 12-month, hybrid, contract position with the possibility of extending. Reporting to the Enterprise Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with project management and business technology partners in support of an enterprise-driven technology transformation program and the migration of applications and services. Key responsibilities include:

1. Requirements management (requirements traceability, baselining, etc.) and enterprise analysis (benchmark studies, feasibility analysis, SWOT, etc.).
2. Requirements elicitation (prototyping, reverse engineering, focus groups, interviews, etc.).
3. Requirements analysis including constructing workflow charts and diagrams, system capability studies, writing specifications (process modeling, organization modeling, use cases, etc.)
4. Development of functional designs and/or detailed user stories.
5. Writing detailed functional specifications capturing system behaviours and system integrations including the creation of source and target mapping of information across systems.
6. Supporting the assessment of solutions and validation efforts including user acceptance testing, defect detection, issue reporting, etc.
7. Assisting with the development of test scenarios and test cases as appropriate.
8. Supporting various information and technology transformation initiatives as required.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, specializing in computer science, management information systems, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role or its equivalent.
3. Ability to articulate complex technical matters in a simplified way.
4. Strong technical background and knowledge of the SDLC, writing detailed functional specifications for a variety of applications, user interfaces, integration and data and system mapping.
5. Strong ability to perform business systems analysis, eliciting and translating requirements into functional specifications (business, functional, system/technical) for development and testing purposes.
6. Strong understanding of iterative development principles with the ability to document business requirements as Agile user stories.
7. Excellent understanding of business context, mode of operations, architectural frameworks and principals, and ability to identify, formalize and problem solve business needs.
8. Mature perspective on architectural principles along with working knowledge of relevant development tools such as JIRA.
9. Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills, as there will be significant interaction with others including user requirements capturing.
10. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment or independently, with skills in facilitation, and negotiation.
11. Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop strong stakeholder relations.
12. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), BABOK, ITIL foundations, Project Management Professional (PMP), and TOGAF certifications are definite assets.
13. Working experience with Networking, Cybersecurity, Active Directory (Azure and on-prem AD), corporate IT systems and operations, and Data Migration are definite assets.
