About Our Client:

Our client, a NFP located in Mississauga, is hiring an IT Director to join their team for a permanent hybrid role!

Responsibilities:

• Engage in enterprise-wide vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Build relationships with business areas to provide organization-wide services, user support, and training to improve alignment and communication.
• Provide consultation to enterprise-wide senior management, department heads and staff on system changes and developments.
• Lead direct reports in day-to-day production issues, and acts as escalation point to resolve urgent or complex issues
• Oversee the implementation and alignment of new software packages, updates to existing packages, and determines effects on existing hardware/software.
• Participate in the development of the annual operating and capital IT budgets for IT purchasing, staffing and technology operations.
• Model the organizational Vision, Values and Mission to customers, clients, staff and other stakeholders.
• Oversee strategic and long-term functioning of department activities and bring organization-wide strategic issues, recommendations and solutions to the table.
• Hire, manage and motivate the department teams, ensuring optimal performance and engagement. Delegate authority to managers where appropriate for managerial functions of the department (interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning work, establishing job performance standards, managing attendance & performance, providing recognition and optimizing engagement and productivity).
• Manage the process of recruitment, selection, relocation, staffing operations, performance appraisal, and staff development.
• Act as a role model for management and staff, incorporating company values
• Lead unit meetings identifying goals, common issues, resolving challenges and contributing to team engagement and effectiveness.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators and manage program support.
• Liaise with government funders regarding contracts, operations and potential new initiatives including negotiating activities and funding
• Contribute to company-wide initiatives as needed
• Analyze statistical data reports for ongoing and future services.
• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of quarterly and yearly funder and division reports and ensure accurate statistical reporting and narratives.
• Ensure alignment of services with company mission and goals and ensure compliance with company policies and government requirements
• Attend management meetings, contribute to operational planning and promotional efforts

Requirements:

• Post Secondary Degree in technical field or other relevant area (post-graduate degree preferred)
• Ability to impact and influence others while holding people accountable
• Demonstrated ability to think and act with strategic and tactical agility
• Exceptional leadership and innovation skills • Ability to conduct in-depth technical analysis and research
• Five (5) years of management experience in technical/development positions is required
• Strong knowledge of database applications, helpdesk operations, and development processes
• Ability to conduct in-depth technical analysis and research
• Results oriented thinker with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex issues
• Ability to communicate advanced technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to organize tasks and staff effectively and resolve challenges.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop, implement and manage budgets.
• Ability to work effectively with community partners and demonstrate leadership in conducting meetings.
