Job Description
Our client, a large, well-established Retailer, is looking for a dynamic and strategic thinking Human Resources Manager, Retail to join their team.
Please note that this role is 5-days on-site based in the west GTA.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with the People Committee, Board Members and relevant client groups to ensure key objectives are being met, tracking action items and following up with stakeholders as needed
- Analyzing the current business of retail locations and providing strategic insights, identifying opportunities and recommendations to Senior Leaders on people related matters
- Proactively staying up to date with HR trends in the Retail space (such as privacy, health & safety, DE&I, etc.)
- Ensuring all client groups are up-to-date, trained and compliant with entire HR portfolio of tools, policies and procedures
- Oversee planning & ensuring completion of all HR training programs for retail locations
- First point of contact for Retail employees with regards to HR specific questions (Workplace Violence & Harassment investigations, AODA audits, etc.)
- Ad hoc HR related tasks as needed
Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources, specifically within Retail industry is strongly preferred
- CHRP and/or CHRL designation would be an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable in dynamic environments where you will be managing competing priorities
- Proactive, strategic thinker who is passionate about HR trends and industry practices
