Our client is seeking a Bilingual Labour Relations Advisor to provide expert guidance on employee and labour relations matters in both unionized and non-unionized environments. This role is central to fostering positive labour relations, ensuring legislative compliance, supporting workplace investigations, and partnering with leadership to manage complex and sensitive HR matters.


Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation
  • Lead and manage complex workplace investigations
  • Support performance management, attendance management, and disciplinary processes
  • Facilitate accommodations and return-to-work plans
  • Collaborate with union representatives and support grievance processes
  • Assist in collective bargaining preparation
  • Ensure compliance in sensitive employment actions, including terminations
  • Coordinate organizational responses to external agencies
  • Contribute to HR policy development and employee engagement initiatives


Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience advising on employee and labour relations matters in unionized and non-unionized environments
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Collaborative relationship-builder with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Post-secondary education in HR or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Progressive HR experience; CHRP designation preferred
  • Career focus in Employee and Labour Relations with strong knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Bilingual fluency in French and English (must have)
  • Eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada
