About Our Client:

Our client a fast-growing consumer products company in the beauty and personal care space with a portfolio of high-performing brands, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and scale their people, payroll, and HR operations as the business continues to grow. This is a senior leadership role for a hands-on HR leader who brings both the strategic perspective of a people executive and the operational discipline of a builder. You will play a central role in shaping the company’s culture, talent systems, and compliance across a North American workforce in a fast-paced, brand-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR leader supporting a North American workforce of approximately 90 employees
  • Own the full employee lifecycle including recruiting, offers, onboarding, performance management, and retention
  • Partner with hiring managers and external recruiters to attract and hire top talent across corporate, brand, and operations teams
  • Lead the annual performance review process and support managers with coaching, feedback, and development
  • Provide guidance on compensation, incentive programs, and benefits using external benchmarking
  • Support leadership in designing competitive, scalable people programs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and tools
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. employment legislation
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations and HR best practices
  • Own bi-weekly payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. employees
  • Manage payroll through Ceridian Dayforce (Canada) and ADP (U.S.), including data changes, audits, and accuracy
  • Serve as the primary internal and external point of contact for payroll and benefits
  • Maintain payroll records, documentation, and compliance files

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a corporate, CPG, beauty, or fast-growing consumer business
  • Strong background in HR generalist leadership, employee relations, and people operations
  • Proven ability to work directly with senior leadership in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience with Canadian payroll and employment law; U.S. payroll and employment exposure is a strong asset
  • Comfortable being hands-on in a mid-sized, fast-scaling organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field
