Position Title: Fractional HR Consultant
Rate: $80-$100/hour
Position Status: Existing vacancy
Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Model: Onsite 1 day per week

We are currently seeking a Fractional HR Consultant for our client. This role is ideal for an HR professional looking to add a client to their existing business and has capacity for 1 day / week. Working for a dynamic and innovative technology company, the HR Consultant will play an integral role in shaping the strategic and operational HR needs to allow for continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and implement HR policies aligned with business goals.
  • Drive the talent acquisition process and manage corporate benefits/insurance plans.
  • Oversee employee relations to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support performance management processes and create learning & development opportunities.
  • Produce HR metrics and reports to measure effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Ensure HR compliance with employment laws in partnership with legal advisors.
  • Bring innovative ideas and strategic solutions to support business growth.
  • Engage with team members both on-site and remotely, promoting a “work hard, have fun” culture.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of HR experience, ideally including HR consulting.
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and contribute in new environments.
  • Experience working independently while supporting senior leadership teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and HR principles.
  • Post-secondary education in HR or business required; CHRP designation is a strong asset.
  • Previous experience in the tech industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage across levels and countries.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operations.
